In this project, I reproduce the coarse-grained texture of granite using soap trimmings in a technique called 'in-pot-swirl'. Granite is formed from the magma that flows and solidifies underground, where it cools slowly over millions of years, allowing large crystals' growth. This soap is a celebration of the slowness and the accuracy, the beauty and the patience. My soapmaking process embraces and embodies these qualities. This soap produces a bubbly lather, fragrant of eucalyptus resins and citrus zest. With soothing properties, this soap leaves the skin smooth and soft. An ideal soap for daily hand-washing.
