A few months ago, when the sun used to shine more often and the fruit section of the market used to be more colourful and fragrant, I bought 10 juicy peaches with the idea of turning them into soap. Peaches are repositories of vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and their sweet fragrance is almost intoxicating to me. I juiced them to have a liquid base for the soap and I added annatto, madder root, sandalwood and paprika to produce different shades of red and pink. The traces of leafy green come from nettle, alfalfa and birch leaves. I used peach kernel oil which is renowned for its calming and hydrating properties. Rich in beneficial botanicals that lend a peculiar texture to the final bar (neither smooth, nor scrub), this soap feels like a real treat under the shower. The essential oil blend is floral, citrusy and sweet, with antimicrobial properties.
