Red is hard! Hard to achieve in soapmaking. There are plenty of botanicals that can give hints of red: madder, paprika, annatto, sandalwood, but they never quite reach that deep, blood-red intensity (this is getting gory!). Better results come from clays and micas, but the extreme alkalinity of saponification always shifts them into orange or brownish hues. After a long search, I finally found a red mica worthy of its name:"Trial by Fire!", and trust me, the name is well earned. After four years of red-less soaps, I'm thrilled to introduce the red in my palette! I paired it with the blackness of activated charcoal in a marbled design, creating an intense contrast. The scent is inspired by the essence of red itself: sweet, intense, and energizing. A soap that purifies, detoxifies, and leaves the skin clean, supple, and fragrant of red!
